Carrot fun facts

🍋Carrots were originally purple or white in color until an orange carrot was accidentally created through mutation.

🍋There are orange, purple, white, red, and yellow carrots.

🍋Carrots were originally cultivated as medicine rather than food as nowadays.

🍋You CAN get yellowish orange palms  and soles if you binge on carrots; it's called carotenemia.

ZUCCHINI FUN FACTS

🍋One zucchini is called a zucchina.

🍋It has more potassium than bananas (munch on a zucchina next time maybe?)

🍋With its antioxidant benefits, it can help prevent cancer and heart disease. The smaller the zucchina, the richer and more flavorful.

🍋The zucchini flower/plant is edible and incredibly delicious when fried or baked.

🍋For some reason, you will start binging on saying zucchina.

LEMON FUN FACTS

🍋A long time ago, lemons were presented as gifts because of how scarce they were.

🍋Lemon juice was used to redden lips back in the Renaissance Age.

🍋500 wired lemons can actually conduct electricity, at least enough for a flashlight bulb.

🍋Lemons  benefit one's throat ache, skin quality, digestion, weight loss, kidney stones, hydration, blood cholesterol, acne, eye health...need I proceed? They're just awesome!

SUSHI.jpg

Sushi fun facts

🍋June 18 is International Sushi day
🍋Before the 1920's, Sushi in Japan was originally very cheap and used as a snack in theaters instead of popcorn...HOW COOL IS THAT?!
🍋Preparing the sour rice in sushi nowadays is as important as preparing the fish. However back then, sushi rice was only used in covering aged fish to create the umami flavor and was then discarded.
🍋Nori, the seaweed used to wrap sushi, aka the black weird texture thingy, used to be scraped off of wood and the undersides of boats! Later, they would be compressed into sheets and sun-dried. But don't worry, they're farmed and toasted nowadays for safety reasons. Thank God for brains and technology!
🍋Finally, the wasabi you eat with sushi, which my dad once thought was mint paste, gobbled up a huge piece of and now seriously hates sushi because of it, aka the green thingy, is traditionally from the root of the Wasabia Japonica plant; and it's quite pricey! Sadly, most of the restaurants serve a dyed powdered mix of horseradish and mustard powder. So next time they charge you for ordering extra wasabi, know that it might be the real deal wasabi, or they want to rip you off!

ROSEMARY fUN FACTS

🍋NEVER EVER over water Rosemary.

🍋Ancient Greeks used to believe that Rosemary helped in strengthening the memory.

🍋Back in 2000, the International Herb Association named it herb of the year.

🍋 It's part of the Oregano, Basil, Mint, and Lavender group. What a strong scented family!

🍋Rosemary oil could be poisonous if taken in very high doses.

🍋The flowers produced by Rosemary could be white, blue, pink, or purple. The color depends on the degree of warmth the climate is.

Pomegranate FUN FACTS

🍋 With its many seeds, pomegranate actually means apples with plenty of seeds.

🍋 It actually belongs to the berry family.

🍋 It has more antioxidants than wine (we're talking in triples here!)

🍋 How ripe it is affects the taste as well. It could range from sweet to sour. For a gemini, I can totally relate!
